Omoderna Museet is a first person game with a partially destructible and interactive environment where the player's freedom and emergent gameplay are driving.

I've had this idea in my head for quite some time. During my time at Futuregames, I have experimented with different VFX pipelines, for example Embergen to Unreal, or the Particle system Niagara in Unreal Engine. Then i stumbled uppon The Next Gen Destruction Toolkit on FAB marketplace. I used this framework as a base for my own project. This gamesystem provides you to use data asset-based definitions for destructibles that allow self-contained respones to bullet impacts,breaking, trailing.

I added a baseball bat with animations to this project and copied the logic from the gun to get the baseball bat working in this project to get some variations during the gameplay.

I started this project on the side of my studies to expand my knowledge how Unreal works. For example how to package a game, how instanced meshes boost performance. As I've been building my game I've gained a deeper understanding of how the engine works and the different workflows that you need to utilize to gain the best performance.
